Awesome Gym Kit That Makes Us Want to Work Out

Good kit doesn't make you stronger, but it sure as hell can make you feel more motivated...

We cannot help but notice the Team GB track squad have some pretty awesome gym kit game.

Admittedly, it doesn’t matter how much money we spend on kit, we’re never going to able to squat like an Olympic Champion (or turn as big a gear quite as fast). However, a little bit of investment in kit can certainly make us feel at least a little more motivated to try to beat our own gym PBs.

Cool and quirky gym gear that appeals to women has absolutely exploded in popularity in recent years, with tons of brands jumping on the wagon. Some of it’s painfully expensive, but not all of it.

Here’s are a few of our favourite pieces…

Primal Stone Women’s Crop Leggings and Airespan T-Shirt

We included Primal in our TWC20 microsite, and wrote about their lifestyle kit here.

This gear is designed by cyclists, running a cycling specific brand – but for 2016 they decided to branch into kit we can wear for more casual exploits too.

The leggings are supper stretchy, and just £60, and the Airespan material in the top (which is £35) is simply amazing at wicking sweat away. You can do all manner of fitness classes in this, and stay dry as a bone – we reviewed it here.

Nike Legendary Engineered Swell and Fierce Sports Bra

Red means you mean business right? We love these leggings from Nike, and they’re £65 which isn’t bad in a market with some pretty hefty price tags. They use Dri-FIT fabric to help keep you comfortable as you work, and the waistband is raised to provide coverage as you lift and bend.

Nike pair these with their Pro Fierce Sports bra (£33). This is designed for medium impact activities (not running or mountain biking!) and has molded cups to provide a little extra definition – so you avoid the mono-boob.

Lululemon Groove Pant and Lighten Up Bra

Lululemon are pretty much the champions of this category, but our top pick from them comes in the form of something less figure hugging than most of their creations.

The Groove Pants III (£88) are designed for yoga, dance, or any other exercise where you’ll want plenty of freedom to move. They’re available in ‘Regular’ and ‘Tall’ fit, and have a great wide waistband.

We’ve always loved Lululemon crop tops, and this Lighten Up one (£42) is said to fit like a second skin. It’s made of a sweat wicking lycra, and provides some compression – but we wouldn’t recommend it for much more than yoga or gym work unless you don’t need too much support.

Fabletics Latitude Outfit

Created by Kate Hudson, Fabletics is a fairly new active lifestyle brand. Probably the most exciting element is that once you sign up with them, you receive your first outfit for as little as £22!

We picked out this ‘Winnipeg’ outfit, because we love the electric blue theme. However, there’s a huge range available.

Asda Athletic Works Leggings and Top Layer

Probably not the first place you’d think to look for active wear – bit with tops and leggings for £10 each Asda could well be worth a try!

The key ingredient in both garments is Polyester, but the bottoms have 15 per cent Elastane so you know you’ll get stretch, too.

Of course, these are just a few selections – there’s A LOT out there. Enjoy shopping, and enjoy that next workout!
