Hope Tech Women’s Rides: Rachael Walker
Riding both road and off-road for years, Rachael’s found herself predominantly in the company of men, especially on the mountains.
After having found herself some great female company for those trail blazing days, Rachael realised her riding began to improve, along with her confidence leaving her with smiles after each ride. She says: “I think my riding has improved a lot more from riding with girls where I’m relaxed, smiling and happy. So if I feel like this, there must be plenty of other women who feel the same way.”
As the brand manager for Hope Tech, Rachael decided to launch a campaign to bring more women together, and encourage new riders alike. The idea behind the Hope Tech Women’s rides is to provide a safe, fun environment for women to meet and grow in confidence together.
“The idea is quite simple: allow the women to meet more female riders and try as much as possible to encourage more women into the sport.”
The first ride will be on Tuesday April 5th in Gisburn Forest where Rachael will be leading the ride, and offering support from Hope Tech with fully kitted demo bikes on offer. The rides will take place every other Tuesday, with the initial rides being suitable for all levels of rider.
With the first few rides being held in Gisburn Forest, the Hope Tech Women’s rides will be venturing across the UK, so watch this space as they could be heading your way!
This is just another brilliant example of a market leading bike company showing their support for women in riding. With Hope’s brilliant technology, and passionate staff like Rachael, it’s exciting to see a new avenue open up for encouraging women to fall in love with mud and two wheels.
