As much as we’d love to ride the rocky mountains of Colorado, and shred the trails in the Alps, our purse strings just won’t stretch that far.

Coed y Brenin, North Wales

The rolling mountains of Coed y Brenin in North Wales has a lot to offer mountain bikers. With a variety of trails graded green for beginners, up to black for the hardcore shredders, this place has it all.

Not far from both the trails of Coed y Brenin, and the downhill tracks of Antir Stinog, lies the renowned MTB Old Skool lodge.

One of Northern Ireland’s few mountain bike spots is Rostrevor, the home of the men’s Red Bull Foxhunt. With a challenging red graded 27km to get pumped, and a bone-rattling 19km black run, this trail centre is for those that are looking for a hair-raising experience.

The Mourne Lodge is a short 15 minute drive to the trail park, offering bike wakes, bike storage, parking, wifi and laundry services… for those really muddy days.

Devon, England

Acorn Cottage Bed & Breakfast

Devon has been secretly growing in the mountain bike world, offering more and  more trails to suit every rider.

With so much going on, it’s best to spend a good weekend here taking it all in and sampling the dirty, muddy trail delights.
