It’s a little known fact that most university students miss the sense of community offered by a school uniform – but Bobbin Bicycles and the University of Cambridge have stepped in to offer an alternative.

The lifestyle cycle brand have collaborated with the Oxbridge uni to offer an exclusive range of shiny new machines designed for commuting and leisure riding.

The bikes in the range proudly display the iconic coat and arms of the highly esteemed university, and also feature embossed saddles as well as soft leather handlebar tape and cream tyres.

All of the frames are constructed from tig-welded steel, and feature mudguards and chainguards to ensure that smart outfits aren’t marked out by mode of transport, as well as racks to accommodate for studying material and picnic rugs.

Models begin at £420, for the simple and classic town bike, which is available with both a gents and ladies frame, with six gears and a largely Shimano groupset save for the Tektro brakes.

There’s also a Deluxe version of the hybrid, again in both a ladies and gents frame, which comes in at £620 with the addition of stylish swept back handlebars and a three speed Sturmey archer hub gear system which should need little maintenance even over the winter months.

On the top end is the racer model, at £780 and once again available for both ladies and gents versions. This has a compact chainset and a 12-15 cassette as well as Gumwall Kenda tyres.
