Evans Cycles will be the official clothing and retail partner for the Prudential RideLondon festival of cycling in 2016.
The 1921 founded high street and online retailer is working with clothing brand Endura to design and produce official clothing for the 2016 event. The kit will be made in Scotland, using quality Italian fabrics, and will be available to buy at Evans’ 60 UK stores and online.
Evans Cycles will also be helping participants prepare for the 100 mile Prudential RideLondon Surrey sportive with in-store advice evenings, maintenance classes and training rides via their own RIDE IT organized ride series. With workshops and qualified mechanics in every store, they’ll also be extending ride-day-help via on route mechanical support.
The sportive attracted over 95,000 riders in 2015 and enables riders of all ages and abilities to experience the fun and freedom of cycling on traffic-free roads in central London. The two day celebration isn’t all about the sportive though, there’s also pro racing to watch as well as fun family attractions.
The entry ballot for the 2016 event closes on Friday 8 January, with the festival itself taking place on Saturday 30 July and Sunday 31 July.
Nick Wilkinson, Evans Cycles CEO, said: “Cycling has enjoyed a real surge in popularity over the last few years and we’re very excited to be partnering with Prudential RideLondon. The event has captured the imagination of all types of cyclists and we share Prudential RideLondon’s aim of inspiring everyone to experience the fun and freedom of riding. We are committed to growing the future of cycling and this announcement follows the launch of our four year partnership with British Cycling’s Go-Ride programme where together we will deliver over two million opportunities for young people to get into cycling by 2020.”
Hugh Brasher, Event Director for Prudential RideLondon, said: “Evans Cycles is the perfect partner for Prudential RideLondon with its network of stores nationwide and extensive range of services and support. We look forward to working with Evans Cycles to make the world’s greatest festival of cycling even bigger and better.”
