Top British mountain bike racer Tracy Moseley has a new goal for 2013. The 2006 World Cup downhill champion will focus on the fast-growing enduro discipline this year.

“This format is a huge goal for me this season,” says Moseley, who will be campaigning the newly formed Enduro World Series (EWS).

Moseley is a multiple British national champion and World Cup winner in downhill racing, but straight gravity racing is typically a young woman’s game, and the 34-year-old has been widening her interests in the last couple of years, adding coaching and mentoring the next generation of young female mountain bike racers to her quiver.

Enduro races incorporate timed, mostly downhill sections, linked by neutral riding sections that nevertheless have to completed within a time limit. It’s a fairly new branch of mountain biking that has taken off in Europe and the UK as riders look for more challenging events.

“It’s going to be amazing to be part of the first ever international enduro series and to have the chance to race in a World Enduro Championship,” says Tracy.

Tracy will also continue to develop her coaching career. She will host a set of events designed to provide an introduction to mountain biking to girls, and development platform for up-and-coming riders.

Trek Bicycles will carry on supplying Tracy with Remedy and Slash bikes for enduro racing and the Superfly for cross-country racing.
