Safety first, that’s what we always say and in cycling, safety starts with your head. Afterall, think bike, think helmet.
Mountain bike trail lids have indeed come a long way since the thick wadding of polystyrene and foam which used to rock around your head with ill-fitting precision and a weary sense of protection. Nowadays, helmets are more streamlined, elegant, more protective and they look pretty good too.
The Specialized Ambush women’s MTB helmet has been around for a few years and continues to be a big hitter amongst female riders, so why fix what isn’t broken? That’s exactly what Specialized believes. So we’ve put this popular lid to the test…
Specialized Ambush Women’s MTB Helmet
The shape of the Ambush immediately highlights the extensive coverage of the helmet, especially at the rear.
Constructed from a patented aramid-reinforced skeleton, Specialized has used patented Energy Optimized Multi-Density EPS to manage energy from impacts by absorbing and transferring around the structure.
There are five height settings with an integrated fitting dial at the back for fine tuning, and the visor has a great range of movement to accommodate goggle space and glasses.
The Ambush is available in a variety of colours, nothing too girly either! For more product information, head over to Specialized’s website here.
