The dhb Trick short-sleeved jersey; fantastic wicking and ventilation, making it perfect for keeping you cool on hot summer days.
This jersey is a breath of fresh air in this scorching summer weather.
Despite it being largely black, the Trick jersey stopped me from melting thanks to some clever venting at the back.
The fabric on the back and the sleeves of the jersey are covered in pin prick holes which kept the air flowing, so any sweat wicked away. This meant that despite the heat at the weekend, I didn’t feel as sweaty as my non-Trick-wearing cycling friends.
The jersey has excellent ventilation on the back, but only has a short zip on the front. While this means the jersey is flattering across the stomach, it does limit ventilation options. It also makes it a little more complicated to go to the loo when wearing bib shorts. The zip has a little chin guard at the front which did a good job of preventing chaffing, but I didn’t test this for a long as the zip was soon undone in the sunshine.
Three good size pockets on the back held all I needed – pump, gels, phone and card. The grippy tape on the waistband held the jersey in place across my back well, but it’s just a shame the tape doesn’t also go round the front as the Trick did ride up a little while I cycled.
The jersey came up true to size, and the performance fit worked well for me for as a fairly standard size 10. While the material on the front is just 100% polyester, it feels light and soft to wear.
At the full price of £50 the Trick seems a little expensive for a very effective but simple summer jersey, but as it’s currently on sale at £35 it’s excellent value. The striking purple, white and black design even garnered a few compliments.
