As the name says, Summit Different is a brand that aims to bring you cycle clothing which stands out from the rest. This Rubik’s Cube Cycle Jersey certainly does that.
It’s very bright and it’s very bold and judging from the response it got on the TWC Facebook page, it’s very popular. It’s also been the most commented upon piece of cycling kit I’ve ever worn.
Remarks I’ve received have fallen into two categories directly related to a person’s age. Statements such as “Wow, that’s bright” have come from anyone less than 30 – whilst this is undeniably true it rather misses the essence of this jersey.
Conversely, people in their mid-to-late 30s and 40s have been truly excited about this jersey with cyclists and non-cyclists alike asking me where it is from. Warning: this jersey will age you, and everyone around you.
Despite being a child of the 80s I never managed to crack the Rubik’s cube so I’m not sure I qualify to wear the jersey. Fortunately, the jersey is rather easier to fathom than the puzzle – undo zip, put arms through holes, do-up zip, go and ride bike.
The Rubik’s Cube Cycle Jersey is a straight-forward design and fit. It has three good-sized and accessible rear pockets, a full-length zip and a gripper around the hem. It’s a loose-fit style which seems to match the pattern well. Sizing is what I would expect – the medium is around a size 12.
The Rubik’s Cube Cycle Jersey retails for £47. There are cheaper jerseys out their but probably not as many quite as bright and bold or that come with more than 43,000,000,000,000,000 combinations.
