A very purple jersey, but did it preform?
Primal do make some great looking jerseys and I have to say I loved this one. Purple is my favourite colour so I was delighted with this jersey. It does have horizontal stripes which some people don’t like because it can make lumps and bumps look bigger. This sort of thing is not an issue for me at all, not due to lack of curves, just due to lack of caring. However it is worth noting that the design may not be to everyones taste.
The fit is a sports cut so it is pretty body hugging. If you want a looser fit just simply size up. I tried the large and I am a 12 on top and I found it a little tight around the bust. It wasn’t uncomfortable in anyway, I was just aware it felt tighter than my other jerseys. The raglan sleeves were a winner as there was no elastic digging in.
The fabric is a typical wicking fibre which did exactly that. I am sweating a lot more now the weather is warmer and the jersey handled it well. Primal claim that the jersey disperses moisture all around meaning it lowers your body temperature by evaporating. I can’t say I particularly noticed this feature, but then who pays attention to sweat?
The rear has a drop-tail and three good sized pockets. Perfect for storage of extra water bottles and tools. The full zip is a great feature on hotter days to allow for full ventilation and it is also good for when you finish a ride and can just get it off quickly and hit the shower.
VerdictThe jersey preforms very well, it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I found it to be pretty comfortable and I love the style!
