I love winter. It is my favourite time of year to ride. But boy do I get blooming cold. I am always in search of new products to make my time in the saddle that little more comfortable so I can stay out in the fresh air for as long as possible.
Pactimo’s Alpine RFLX™ Thermal Tights might just be my favourite find to date. They are sublime. Utterly amazing.
Slipping them on for the first time, I loved how soft and cosy the thermal fabric used really is. Soft against the skin but with enough support on the outside of the tights to give a good fit, they are a winner.
I opted for a medium as I am a UK 10. To be honest I could have gone with a small but the medium were pretty perfect on. They looked super flattering and most importantly there was not a glimpse of camel toe in sight. Flatlock stitching and a wide yoga waistband further contributes to the comfort of these tights. I was also pleasantly surprised by how breathable these tights were when I worked up a sweat on a climb, they didn’t feel too warm at all.
It should be noted that these tights do not have a chamois so need to be worn with a liner short on longer rides. Something like the Urbanist Bettie Panties would probably suffice for shorter rides.
The absence of the chamois does mean that these tights are a good investment as they seamlessly crossover into other sports such as winter runs and hikes.
The reflective element of these tights is also worth mention. A large reflective panel on the thigh and the back of each leg really ensure you are seen on those dark winter nights.
Verdict:
I absolutely love the Pactimo Alpine RFLX™ Thermal Tights. There are insanely comfortable, cosy and breathable too. My only gripe is the overuse of the Pactimo logo which is present on the back of each leg and on the lower back but I will forgive them for this due to how amazing the tights are!
