The AIRLOK allows you to turn your bike into a piece of wall art (a good reason to keep it clean). It’s more than just a pretty face, though – the base is made from hardened steel and your bike is secured by a steel locking pin.

The brand hit their target of £70k 11 days early, eventually finishing with £80,399 from 318 backers.

The elegant yet functional bike storage solution will be available in a wide range of colours and the shape and size means many different bike styles are catered for.

We caught up with the Leamington Spa based brand’s Marketing and PR rep, Francesca Smith at the Cycle Show the night before the official close. She told us at the time: “We’re past the target, but I don’t want to celebrate yet – until the official end people can still pull out!” Of course, she had no reason to worry – but as Fran commented: “you never want to count your chickens too early.”

Speaking after the official close, Hiplok co-founder, Ben Smith, commented: “We have been overwhelmed by the reaction from the hundreds of Kickstarter backers who have supported us in putting Hiplok’s first secure bike storage in to production. It’s fitting that the final day of our Kickstarter campaign coincides with the start of one of the UK’s biggest cycling events and we’re thrilled to have AIRLOK on display at the Cycle Show at the NEC this weekend.”

Fellow co-founder, John Abrahams, added: “The reaction has proven the need for secure yet elegant bike storage. We have lots of ideas for developing the sector further but for now, we’re concentrating on getting the first AIRLOKs to the very first customers.”

The first locks will be delivered to customers in early 2017, and sales to bike stores worldwide will commence in the spring. They’re available to pre-order, for £129.99.
