Evans Cycles’ RIDE IT series has enjoyed a record year in 2014, with a whopping 24,517 participants taking part in its organised rides.
Keen to build on this success, 2015 will see further developments to the series. With 40% more people expected to take part, the programme will now include a Sportive Cross Series.
Simply classified as a ‘mixed terrain route’, the Sportive Cross format combines road and off-road riding for a challenging, yet different, day out in the saddle. The rides are ideally suited to cyclocross bikes, but can just as easily be enjoyed on a mountain bike.
For those looking for a big challenge The King of The Downs event on 1 June is certainly one worth considering. With the Long Route covering 115 miles and 7,275 feet of climbing, it promises a truly epic day out. Events are selling out, so riders are advised to enter early to avoid disappointment.
Evans’ RIDE IT events entry starts at just £7.50 (with free rides for kids) and feature fully way-marked routes, mechanical support, electronic chip timing and well-stocked High5 sponsored feed stations on every route.
In the meantime check out the infographic below that shows the success in 2014 – there are some pretty interesting stats in there, our favourite has to be the amount of bananas eaten!!!
With RIDE IT travelling all-round the UK, cyclists should be able find an event local to them.
