I should let you into a secret in that I am the worst person in the entire world to assemble, fix, or adjust anything. And if I don’t seek help from someone else nearby, the problem never gets fixed. So when looking for a smartphone bicycle mount, the Quad Lock jumped right out and grabbed my attention.
Requiring no tools and little elbow grease, the Quad Lock simply twists and clicks right into place. I knew straight away this was right up my street…
The Quad Lock is a very impressive gadget. It’s so impressive that it took me no instructions and only two minutes to pop on my bike. I simply popped my phone into the iPhone 4 case provided, clicked it into the mounting system and then secured it in place with the provided rubber ‘o rings’.
The kit comes with two different sizes of rings to suit different sized handlebar sizes which is handy. It also lets you twist the phone both portrait and landscape easily which is useful and, the whole device adds virtually no weight to my handlebars.
So off I went for my first spin using the Quad Lock. At first I was a bit anxious that my phone’s life lay in the hands of a device that seemed so simple but I was surprised at how safe it felt and looked throughout. Even after riding over small bumps and potholes in the road, the Quad Lock remained in place and didn’t move an inch.
The iPhone case itself is very sturdy and feels like it would protect my phone if it somehow managed to fall off and drop to the floor. It’s not a bad iPhone case either and has even replaced my tatty, broken old one!
The Quad Lock iPhone 4 Bike Kit also comes with a nifty ‘poncho’ for wet weather riding, which is basically just a waterproof cover for your screen. This worked tremendously in the rain; it was easy to wipe and protected my phone from even the heaviest of downpours.
