Podium Ambition finished on top of the standings after another round of Revolution tack racing in Manchester.

Neah Evans partnered with Dame Sarah Storey to race in the pink for Podium. With Evans winning the Omnium, the pair retained their position on the top step of the overall standings.

In second was VoxWomen’s team made up of Road World Champ Amalie Diderikson, Amy Cure and Amber Joseph and Great Britain’s team was in third with Ellie Dickinson and Manon Lloyd.

The women contested individual events – the Scratch race, Points Race, Elimination, and a Flying Lap. They also competed in an Omnium, in the new format which includes a Scratch race, Points race, Elimination and Tempo race. You can see the complete results books here. 

Evans Tweeted after her win: “Pretty special to win first ever omnium @RevolutionUK last night, some great racing across 2 days! Back to work Monday and onto London!”

Commenting on her team work with Dame Sarah, who was back on the track for the first time after her Paralympic success in Rio, she said: “It’s the first time we’ve actually raced together, and we just worked well together straight from the start it was so good having her up there with me – It was a high standard today, I had to work really hard, there’s so many girls out there on a good level that makes the racing really close, and from a crowd point of view that’s great as it’s anyone’s game.”

Revolution also celebrates young riders with the ‘HOY Future Stars’ league for 15 and 16 year olds. The boys and girls compete over a Scratch Race, Points Race and 6 Lap Dash. Leading the girls is Ellie Russell, who won all three of the girls rounds in Manchester.

The men are competing in the ‘Champions League’ which is currently being led by JLT Condor’s  Ed Clancy and Jon Mould (pictured above).

Dame Sarah and Evans will be defending their title – but they’ll have stiff competition against World Champ Diderikson, Olympic Champion Elinor Barker and Laura Trott (nee Kenny) as she returns to the track after Rio.
