If you’ve ever wanted to design your own custom kit then you’ll probably know that most brands only take orders in bulk. Great if you’re a cycling club looking to fit out 300 members (10 each at least wanting every size and style) – but what if you’re an individual who has a great design idea?
Endura have answered that question with endura.me. The brand who supply both Movistar men’s and Cervelo Bigla women’s teams with pro level race kit now offer you the chance to have your own design printed onto a jersey and pair of shorts.
To create your kit design, you simply have to choose your garment (jersey £79 – £99, bibs £129-£139), download their template, jazz it up and upload the image – where you can see it in 3D form before you hit ‘print’. Endura will check the design to make sure it meets print requirements, and once confirmed your kit should arrive in three weeks.
Managing director Jim McFarlance said: “Endura is uniquely placed to offer a service as powerful and creative as endura.me. At Livingston, we have the highly-skilled people and cutting edge manufacturing facilities to completely change the game for custom clothing.”
He added: “It’s tremendously exciting to be able to place the same people and processes that create race wear for Movistar Team and Cervélo Bigla at the disposal of endura.me users, and to facilitate a global online community of cyclists and designers.”
The new custom design tool uses the same 3D garment templates as used by Endura’s professionals, with no limitations on design – working seamlessly with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDraw and other leading design packages.
To add a little excitement to the proceedings, the Livingston based brand have also launched an ‘Endura Prize’ competition. Twelve design students from World class arts institutions around the UK have created their own kit designs. You can vote for your favourite, and the winner will claim a £5,000 prize.
