Laura Trott and Jason Kenny became husband and wife on Saturday, in a private ceremony.
Guests were asked to donate to Dementia UK (and you can donate, too!), as opposed to bringing gifts. Both Laura and Jason’s grandmothers suffered with the disease, so it’s a cause close to their hearts.
The first images of the wedding were shared by Trott’s dad, Adrian, on Twitter – and of course the couple looked stunning on their special day.

Trott, or Mrs Kenny, also shared a post written by her new husband, the following day:

It may take us some time to adjust to calling the four time Olympic Champion and seven time World Champion ‘Laura Kenny’ – but she’s not the first elite female cyclist to change her name in the last few weeks.
The reigning Road World Champion has also made the switch. Lizzie Armitstead changed her twitter handle (though we’ve not seen her passport, driving or racing license) to ‘Lizzie Deignan’ after she married new husband Team Sky rider Philip Deignan on September 17.
A very happy @PhilipDeignan and his beautiful wife @L_ArmiTstead Congratulations ???????? #TeamSkyFamily pic.twitter.com/w0A7rm8lci

To name change, or not to name change, is a tricky decision for many women – and perhaps even more so for those whose names carry a certain amount of equity.
In recent years we’ve seen others pros – such as Jessica Ennis-Hill and Joanna Rowsell-Shand opt for the double barrel option. We noticed over the weekend that Joanna still signs her name ‘Rowsell’ when signing autographs.
Are you going to struggle to remember it’s Laura Kenny and Lizzie Deignan – or do both names roll off the tongue for you already?
