The Broken Spoke Bike Co-op welcomed over 100 guests to their sold out day to celebrate women’s cycling.
The Oxford based bike group is passionate about all things two wheeled. Famed for running quality workshops, bike safety classes and events, the Broken Spoke Bike Co-op hosted their Women & Bicycles event earlier this month.
With guest speakers including, Jenni Gwiazdowski from the London Bike Kitchen, Caren Hartley from Hartley Cycles and Cheryl Reid from Cowley Road Condors. This event celebrated the growing industry, and key players nurturing the development of women’s cycling.
Selling out just days before the event, 100 visitors showed up throughout the day to take part in discussions, share experiences and meet fellow cyclists alike.
Covering a whole variety of topics from professional riding, women in the competitive race scene, fashion and bike development, there was something for everyone. It was impossible to come away without having made new friends, and learning a thing or two about the wonderful world of women’s cycling.
The Broken Spoke Bike Co-op run open workshops, mechanics courses and have recently re-launched their Beryl’s Night: Women and transgender repair nights. Head over to their website for bookings and more information.
