We recently reviewed the Infinity bike seat, which uses a unique shape to help alleviate pressure on the ride. Now, the founder Dr Vincent Marcel has decided to release a pink edition to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Organisation which researches breast cancer cures and treatment.

Dr Marcel chose the charity in tribute to his mother-in-law, a breast cancer survivor – and $100 of every $240 seat (£69 of every £166 pounds) sold will go to the charity. He has set himself a target of $100k to raise through the sale of the saddles, available in full leather with chrome, black chrome, copper or gold rails.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation was founded in 1980 and became the Susan G. Komen Organisation in 1982 – they’ve so far invested over $2.6 billion into research, community health outreach, advocacy and programs.

Dr Marcel said: “To see what my mother-in-law went through, I wanted to raise money to help support research that will lead to a cure for breast cancer.  I am working hard to reach this goal and I look forward to making the donation. Also known as Dr Vince, the creator of the seat is a chiropractor and triathlete – and it was his own discomfort that spurred him on to launch the brand which is designed to accommodate the rider’s skeletal structure – the idea is that it fits all riders indiscriminate of muscle mass, body type – and of course gender.

The first saddles were launched in Kickstarter in October, and within 54 hours the funding target was reached – eventually finishing at 753 per cent of the target – $188,000. The saddles are available worldwide from the online store – and you can check out our review here.
