If you’re looking for a new and clever way to store your bike(s) – then Stowaway might well have the answer.
This clever pulley system is seeking funding via a Kickstarter page, offering a one bike solution for £70, with various capacities right up to ten bike storage for £655.
The system uses pulleys to lift the bike off the floor, holding it horizontally and a counter weight system means that you’re never pulling the full weight of the bike.
The Stowaway was an idea born of designer Sinead Geraghty’s frustration as she repeatedly tripped over her three bikes. With cyclists increasingly concerned about leaving bikes outside, she knew she wasn’t alone.
Using The Stowaway also means that bikes are hidden from prying eyes when indoors – important since they tell us that 66 per cent of bicycle thefts in the last five years happened in residences.
The company is looking to raise a total of €100,000 – check out the page here for more information.
