Review: Madison Isoler Merino Zip-Neck Baselayer

I’ve fallen in love with the Madison Isoler Merino Zip-Neck Baselayer, it’s been a lovely little addition to my cycling wardrobe.

Having worn this just about every day this week on my commute to work, it’s safe to say that it doesn’t start to get smelly at all easily, a quality everyone wants and needs in a baselayer.

The Madison Isoler Merino Zip-Neck baselayer has been a top notch performer. Soft next to skin, this 100% merino wool baselayer brilliant at keeping you just the right temperature no matter what the weather. The fabric is so comfortable next to my skin, I don’t ever want to take it off!

It wicks the sweat away really quickly and dries pretty fast, so it feels fresh and clean even after you’ve just worn it. The high collar on the garment also works to keep the chill off my neck which has been very much appreciated on those windy mornings. A chin guard at the top of the zip helps to protect against chin chafe on the move.

I’m a size 12 in cycling clothing and the size 12 baselayer fit me perfectly. I do however wish it was cut a little longer at the back as I have found that it easily rides up in that area. This isn’t ideal as it often exposes my lower back to an unwanted chill not to mention the fact that I am not a huge fan of exposing my midriff to the masses while on the bike.

Although baselayers aren’t really on show, the bright turquoise colour of it makes me love the product even more and means it can be easily be worn alone without feeling at all self conscious.

Price: £40.99 (RRP £44.99), available from Koo Bikes.
