Canyon operate using a very different business model to the vast majority of cycling brands – selling direct to customers online which means they can offer high end bikes at almost unrivalled prices. Last year, they introduced their first women’s bikes – but these feature women’s contact points only, and that’s not enough for their new Women’s Brand and Product manager, Katrin Neumann.
Neumann was recruited to help Canyon decide what they needed to do to cater for women properly – and using data from hundreds of customer records, she decided a whole new frame was required and she wants it to be the best women’s specific bike on the market. In the mean time, she told them to bring out bikes with women’s fit kits as standard, which they duly did.
The brand are headline sponsors of the Canyon//SRAM Racing Team that launched earlier this year, and they’re working with some of the best riders in the world to make sure they get their product just right.
