Review: dhb Cosmo Waterproof Jacket

This jacket is only £54.99 but will it keep you dry in torrential rain?

Finding the perfect waterproof jacket can be a tricky one, especially if you don’t have a big budget available. However dhb’s Cosmo Waterproof Jacket might just be the answer to all of your problems.

The first thing that I have to mention about this jacket is the price. It is a modest £54.99. Those who are looking to buy a really good waterproof jacket will often spend two, three or even four times that amount in a bid to make those wet weather rides that little bit more bearable.

Before I begin, I feel I should put your minds at ease about how rigorously this jacket was tested. I have been riding in nothing but this jacket for the month of October. During that time I have endured rain showers of biblical proportions, muggy weather, high winds and everything in between. October in the UK really is a treat! The dhb Cosmo jacket dealt with it all admirably though.

Cycling in the torrential rain, I was dreading the moment that the jacket gave up and let a cold drizzle of water in. But as the rain got heavier, I was pleasantly surprised to find I was bone dry. Looking down at the jacket I could see the water beading off the arms of the jacket.

My other main concern with this jacket was breathability. We have all been party to that boil in a bag feeling and let’s face it, it is less than pleasant. As I upped the ante, no sweat accumulated inside the jacket, I was delighted.

In terms of fit and appearance, the dhb Cosmo jacket delivered yet again. Available in sizes UK8-16, the sizing is pretty accurate. However the jacket has a streamlined fit so if you prefer a loose fit opt for a size up. There is one large zip pocket on the back of the jacket, perfect for keeping your beloved mobile phone safe from the rain. The jacket can also be tucked into the pocket so you can neatly stash it in your jersey pocket when you don’t need it. Although if like me you are lazy, I am happy to report that the jacket can also be stuffed straight into a standard sized jersey pocket without any problems.

This jacket is an absolute winner. The fit, the appearance, the performance, I seriously cannot find fault with it.

Absolutely none.
