Review: Craft Womens Seamless Base Layer

What a great piece of kit.

You will not believe how light and soft this Craft Seamless Base layer is. The fabric almost melts in your hands. It has a great fit too, particularly on the shoulders. I love, love, love this Craft base layer. How is it possible to love an item so much? It’s a happy base layer, the bright blue colour makes me smile (also available in Black, white and Hibiscus) it’s made from a super light fabric, has great wicking properties and is an extremely flattering design too.

I got sent the medium, I probably should have exchanged it for a small, but because I wanted to wear it there and then, I wore it to yoga, and for running in. I wore it as soon as it came, still love it.

In fact, I raced in this top in the Butlers Bonk duathlon, Run Ride Run. I wore it underneath a gilet. This Craft seamless base layer is a really great piece of kit.

There is a cute little aerated design pattern around the neck of this top for breathability, and some fancy panelling on the shoulders, and underneath the bust that make this craft base layer sit really well against your skin. The usual hem of the sleeves are without elastic, or seams, the fabric is so delicate it almost sits against your body like another layer of skin. It’s really soft. And very light. Super versatile too. Because it is seamless, it is incredibly comfortable, so much so you forget that you are wearing anything. It can help provide a layer between your jersey and you, to prevent any chaffing or rubbing that might occur without it. The superlight fabric has been designed to wick the moisture away from your skin to avoid you getting cold during rides.

I often wear a layer underneath a jersey, especially when riding in the U.K as I never know what might happen with the weather, even in our ostensibly “summer” months. Before I rode long distances, I would have thought this essential piece of kit superfluous to requirements…funny how opinions change.

I have worn the base layer underneath a jersey, and I have worn it solo. I’ve used it not only for cycling but for running and to practice yoga in too. This really is a great piece of kit. It adds an extra layer that will keep your body temperature a little more regulated, wicks easily and is made with the lightest fabric I have ever come across.

What a great piece of kit.

Verdict

Buy one, you will not be disappointed. I love it. I’m sure you will too.
