Review: Chapeau Ladies Cafe Jersey

Dotty about Chapeau's new offering

It was love at first sight when I laid my eyes on this jersey. Let’s face it, Chapeau have always nailed it in the style stakes, but this season they brought it up a notch.

After I got over my initial infatuation with the product, I did begin to get my reservations regarding how this jersey would perform. Balancing style, fit, comfort and performance after all seems to be a combination that a lot of brands struggle with.

Chapeau is the first to reassure us that this is a casual styled garment but with no loss of function. The sceptic in me was not so sure. With a balmy summer fast approaching, I thought it only appropriate to put this jersey to the test in the warmest possible environment I could think of, which turned out to be the newly opened Athlete Lab on Cannon Street in Central London.

When I say I have never sweated so much in my life, I mean it. It was pouring off me in streams. Suffice to say, it wasn’t my finest hour! The poor Chapeau Cafe jersey was really being put through its paces. And I am delighted to report that it performed brilliantly.

Even with the extreme volumes of sweat it wicked it away efficiently. The fit was excellent and the jersey was unbelievably comfortable. The shirt is so soft and cotton cuffs and collar make it even more appealing.

Chapeau has really thought about flattering the female figure when designing this shirt. The sleeves are not capped and there is no bunching anywhere when the jersey is on.

On the rear of the shirt there are two pockets, one of which has a zipped water resistant compartment that is headphone compatible so it is perfect for your iphone or something similar. A hidden silicone gripper on the hem further helps the jersey to stay in place.

Available in sizes XS- XL.

This is perfect for everything from casual rides to more intense sessions. The fit is incredible and it performs excellently, even under pressure!

Looks great, love the polka dots!

I cannot think of a single one!
