Molly Weaver Joins Drops Cycling Team for 2018

The British riders moves from Team Sunweb to Drops Cycling next year

Spanish residing British cyclist, Molly Weaver will be making the move from Team Sunweb to Drops Cycling for the 2018 season.

Earlier this season, Molly suffered a devastating crash which left her with five broken vertebrae, four ribs, a crushed chest as well as injuries to her back and shoulder. At first, healthcare professionals feared paralysis and had almost written off her cycling career.

However, Molly’s strong character and sheer determination have seen the 23-year-old athlete get back on the bike and pull out some impressive results as she has already completed full races this season and three races at World Tour level.

“I couldn’t be happier to announce that I’ll be joining Drops next year. From the first conversation, we had I could tell that this was going to be the perfect fit.” – Molly Weaver

Team Director, Bob Varney said “Molly will take on the mantle of Road Captain for 2018 and will be our Leader for selected Spring Classics. In addition to her new leadership responsibilities, Molly will also slip back into her role of Domestique effortlessly when required.”

Molly will join her new teammates in December for the team’s first training camp whilst her new contract begins from January 1st, 2018.
