Strava now Supports Emojis

That one little thing that Strava was missing? Sorted!

Always loved Strava, but felt it was missing a trick by not supporting Emjois? Well, worry no longer. The social media sharing site for cyclists has upped its game and moved into the emoji-century. 

In September 2015, Strava allowed the simple ‘smiley’ emoji, but up until last night that was pretty much it. The site received several requests for a greater breadth of Emoji options, but none arrived. Until now.

As of yesterday evening, you can now express your emotions on Strava – even when words fail you. Which, let’s face it, is more common by bike than in any other scenario.

You can add Emjois to new, and old, rides – we tested the words ‘bike’ –

As well as an array of Christmas themed lexemes. This ride really did feature a buddy with a large, jingling tree attached to his bike. Even more worrying was the fact he was clearly the quickest of the bunch.

Though we couldn’t get a little peloton image, we did spend some time trying to find the closest resemblance we could to ‘club’.

So far as we can see, Strava hasn’t put out any particular notification of the exciting new feature – but the news has been spreading around Twitter at an alarming rate.

The news comes soon after Strava made a huge effort to help users share the tales behind their travels with the ‘strava stories’ app. Strava stories allows users to import their route, stats, and pictures, then adding their literary genius to the mix for a complete experience.
