On the evening of Saturday 15th March, you’ll be able to tune into the BBC and watch the highlights and news from Boels Rental Ronde van Drenth, watching the likes of Rochelle Gilmore (Wiggle Honda) and Lizzie Armitstead (Boels Dolmans) in action.

The UCI, the international governing body for cycling, has confirmed that for each of the 9 rounds of the UCI Women’s Road World Cup there will be a separate news roundup and highlights package. This will be broadcast on various channels around the world.

In the UK, the BBC will be the channel to tune in to, and there are a further three international broadcasters signed up, with discussions ongoing with a number of others. In Italy, keep your eyes peeled on RAI Sports, in the Netherlands NOS and in France Canal+.

Elsewhere in the world you’ll be able to tune into the UCI YouTube Channel.

“We are extremely fortunate to have the support of the race organisers for this initiative” said UCI President Brian Cookson, formally President of British Cycling.

“Their dedication and incredible work has already had a large part to play in the growing success and popularity of women’s cycling. By staging exciting and high-level events, they are improving its image and generating more interest from the fans. This is an exciting and positive year for women’s cycling. With the launch in 2014 of La Course by Le Tour de France on the last day of the Tour de France, and now this increased visibility of our leading professional women’s cycling series, it is clear that real momentum is building”

In addition to the news and highlights coverage, a series of 6 features will be produced, focusing on the stories behind some of the high level athletes in the sport.

Lets tune in, show our support, and keep the momentum going!
