Evans Cycles Announce Autumn/Winter Dates for Cross Sportives

Don't put your bike away just yet. Evans Cycles have announced new sportive dates for your diary

The days may be getting colder, and the sun is setting earlier, but there’s no need to pop the bike away just yet. Evans Cycles are back with their RIDE IT sportives, and they’ve just announced new cross events for your Autumn/ Winter diary.

We’ve gotten stuck into the cyclocross season here at TWC. Up to our ankles in exhilarating mud, and heart pounding fun, we can’t seem to get enough of this fleeting seasonal discipline.

What are the 5 essential cyclocross skills?

Fortunately, Evans Cycles are feeling the same way as they’ve just announced new multi-terrain sportvies for this winter. With a 50:50 split of road and off-road riding, their aim is to achieve a broad variety of ground with just enough challenge to really get you hooked.

Evans Cycles’ event manager said: “We’re particularly excited to be announcing new dates for our multi-terrain Sportive Cross format. They offer something a little different to the traditional sportive and are a great way to add some new interest to your winter riding”

The 2016/17 Evans Cycles RIDE IT Sportive Cross event dates are:

  • Thetford – 27th November 2016
  • Hampshire – 4th December 2016
  • Newbury – 22nd January 2017
  • Leeds – 5th March 2017
  • Gatwick – 19th March 2017

All routes will be fully way-marked with mechanical support on site, electronic chip timing and well-stocked High5 sponsored feed stations along the way.

Everyone who signs up 8 weeks or more in advance gets a free High5 event pack, and on the day of the event there are exclusive offers on FWE riding kit if you need to top up your winter wardrobe.

Adult entry prices range from £7.50 to £25.00 with free child entry for those under 16. For more information and to sign up, visit the RIDE IT sportive website here. You can also watch the teaser video below for more insight into the events.
