Review: Cube Women’s ‘Am’ Round Neck MTB Jersey

The colours on the Cube Am Round Neck jersey are bright without being brash, and are just on the right side of feminine.

The Cube Am Round Neck jersey is a well-designed short-sleeved mountain bike top with some clever little details.

The overall fit is relaxed, making it a good fit for mountain bike baggies, and it’s a really nice shape, with short, close fitting sleeves and a contoured torso that doesn’t cling. The jersey ends just below the hip, meaning no gaps around your kidneys when riding, and I found my size small just right (I’m an 8-10).

The fabric itself if extremely stretchy, and paneling on the rear of the top add even greater freedom of movement. It also feels soft throughout with no chafing around the neck or under the arms.

Bonded seams and cuffs do away with the need for stitching round these areas, adding a smart, clean finish.  Silicon printed patches at the shoulder and hip are designed to protect the material from any rubbing, and remained undamaged after several rides wearing a backpack.

The fabric held up well over several rides and washes, and though it isn’t the most technical out there (85% Polyester (50% Coolmax) 15% Elastane). Functionality isn’t bad – though it seemed to soak up quite a lot of sweat, the fabric dried reasonably quickly.

In moderate temperatures it’s a good stand-alone summer top, and it also doubles up nicely as a base layer when it gets a little chillier.

A nice feature of the Cube Am Round Neck jersey is the small zippered pocket on the back, which is great for keeping your keys or cake money safe and secure.
