First impressions: Race Face women’s mountain bike clothing

Canada is one of spiritual homes of MTB. The legendary North Shore area, Kamloops, not to mention Whistler – these feature highly on the to-ride list of a lot of mountain bikers. It’s a landscape full of epic, dramatic terrain, and trails to match.

Combine these elements, and it’s hardly surprising that Canadian brand Race Face design some pretty hardy, technical and good looking kit for women. Known particularly for their bike components – chances are you’ll have seen some Race Face cranks, chainrings or handlebars gracing a mountain bike at some point – their engineering prowess has clearly been put to good use in designing their clothing range.

A stealth-black combo; the Khyber jersey and shorts from Race Face.

The full range has a decent offering for females; 3 types of shorts, 2 types of jersey, 2 jackets and 2 glove offerings. Since (I hate to say it) autumn is approaching, we’ve got some of their warmer, more winter-proof pieces of kit to look at; the Khyber shorts, Khyber jersey and the Felony jacket.

With a 20-year long history, Race Face are a well-established brand. Rider designed and tested on Vancouver’s infamous North Shore, robust and durable are the watchwords. Basically, it rains a lot there – much like here.
