Video: Brooklyn bike shop owner Gina Marie Scardino

Here’s a really nicely-shot look at a woman who’s making a difference in her local cycling scene, Gina Marie Scardino.

Rock drummer, owner of King Kog bike shop in Brooklyn, and mother (not necessarily in that order) Gina has a smart, feminist take on being a woman in the man’s world of the US bike industry.

The video is part of Thule’s ‘The Way I Roll’ series to promote the company’s new Pack ‘n’ Pedal rack and pannier system, which is due to hit the shops any day now. Watch carefully and you’ll see the bags on Gina Marie’s bike, but it’s the most subtle product placement ever – blink and you’ll miss it.

We’re looking forward to checking out the Pack ‘n’ Pedal gear when it arrives because it looks like it’ll solve one of the most annoying problems, how you carry stuff when your bike lacks rack mounts and you don’t want to get a sweaty back.
