Perfect topped with extra fruit or frozen onto wooden dessert sticks, nothing says Summer more than this fruity treat. We've made this one with 0% fat yoghurt but have added a little sugar for extra sweetness.
Note: we found it very hard not to demolish the whole bowl in one go...
- 3 cups of frozen mixed fruit
- 2 tablespoons of sugar (optional)
- 1/2 cup of nonfat yogurt
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
Using a food processor (or hand held mixer) mix all the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
Cover and freeze for 30 minutes to firm up slightly.
The healthy bit:
Berries of all types are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Frozen berries are just as good as fresh berries and maintain nutritional value for longer.
Yoghurt provides bone-building calcium in a dose as great as that from a glass of milk and eating yogurt regularly helps boost immune function.
