Review: Polaris Mica Women’s Jersey

Flattering and functional, this is a bit of kit you won’t want to be without.

It’s an unassuming enough piece of kit, a thick jersey which I have actually worn as a jacket or outer layer on a breezy day. Three pockets to the rear, functional black/grey with the obligatory dash of hot pink (this is a ladies’ product after all) and a brushed, warm windproof fabric.

Put it on and it’s not just flattering, it’s a bit rock and roll. A bit Pink Ladies. A bit biker chic, a bit sexy. I feel very fancy indeed.

We had a few windy days after I was sent this to test and I’m happy to report this coped admirably. There’s an insert to the chest for extra windproofing and it certainly held up. I was very comfortable, but didn’t overheat.

The fit is excellent, snug but not constricting, and it’s long enough at the front and the back. Which is, as I’m finding, quite rare.

I really love this, it makes me want cooler weather so I can wear it. It makes me want to ride a bit faster as I feel a bit special. This jersey is available in three colour schemes but I wouldn’t go past the black and pink.

Verdict

Flattering and functional, this is a bit of kit you won’t want to be without.
