10 Gorgeous Commuter Helmets

Bold, stylish helmets that will have you turning heads wherever you go

Aside from the road and MTB helmets we have for our serious hobby pursuits, commuter helmets are able to be seriously glam and glittery and, luckily for us, usually on the cheaper side.

We’ve had a good hunt around for some of the gorgeous ones out there and here is a selection of our favourite…

Bobbin Mirror Helmets

Nothing will make you stand out more on the road than wearing this bold and stylish offering from Bobbin. If you thought that their bikes were pretty, their helmets aren’t too shabby either.

The helmet features a high-impact ABS shell, an integrated liner and soft interior padding for comfort whilst you ride. It’s not the lightest of helmets, weighing 430g but it does have 11 super handy air ventilation holes!

KASK Lifestyle

Ok, so the price may be quite steep but this helmet has a lot of smart features. Designed for everyday urban cycling, the outer shell has been made from silk-screen polycarbonate with a polystyrene inner. Kask has used an eco-leather chin-pad strap for added style and comfort which is also anti-allergic, wipe-able and can be made to fit any shape.

To prevent you from getting a too hot whilst pedalling away there are four large air intakes and the inside padding is breathable, made from Coolmax moisture-wicking fabric which has been treated with Sanitized (a certified antibacterial product which helps to prevent any funky smells from occurring).

Limar 360 City

The 360 City commuter helmet from Limar is perfect if you’re looking for a little extra coverage as this bad boy will effectively cover your ears and come down low in the back for support and protection.

There’s a removable fabric peak in the front and a handy LED light fitted to the adjustable wheel in the rear of the helmet – what more could you want?

Available here in two sizes for 46 / £41.

Lazer Next Helmet

Lazer has been in operation making helmets since 1919 so it’s safe to say that they know a thing or two about protecting your noggin.

Their Next model has a super sleek and clean cut design. Although, it’s quite heavy weighing 450 grams, it’s not the type of helmet you’re going to lug to the trails! With a techno-polymer hard shell construction and a simple chin strap, they have also popped 16 ventilation holes in for maximum airflow. Because who wants to arrive looking hot and sweaty?

Bern Parker commuter helmet

Bern has developed quite the reputation for constructing super stylish urban cycling helmets and the Parker is no exception.

With a detachable fabric peak, the Parker has been constructed with liquid foam which has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than traditional EPS foam. Available in a variety of colours, the Parker is a well-ventilated choice for your commuting needs.

Giro Reverb

Now this helmet was made for urban cycling as it’s subtle and not large or bulky. With its clean round shape and a handy removable visor, the light shell, which claims to be so tough and durable that it will even help to prevent the smallest of dents and scratches from naturally forming.

It features a full-wrap in-mold polycarbonate shell with an EPS liner, an auto lock fit system and nine air vents to keep you feeling as cool as you will look when wearing this over your barnet.

Nutcase urban helmets

Perhaps our favourite from the lot. Who doesn’t fancy cats in space or a robot helmet? The great thing is that Nutcase has matching lids for your kids too!

This helmet is extremely lightweight and comes with some handy features: a sleek removable visor, anti-pinch magnetic buckle and removable spin dial system. It’s been designed with reflective detail on the straps and spin dial for added visibility on the road.

Sawako Cycling helmets

Crocodile print might be a big no no for a lot of people but you have to admit it is very pretty and is a signature piece for any fashion-forward commuter.

The simple designed shell is covered in an all over stitched on patent faux crocodile print fabric and comes complete with a whopping 11 air vents to ensure your commute is a breeze.

Sahn Cycling helmets

This helmet may look simple, but with its nifty micro-dial adjuster and washable mesh pads, other features include the shell being constructed from durable ABS impact plastic and LG-shock absorbent EPS foam. There are also two nifty cooling channels that unlike most helmets don’t stick out like a sore thumb.

The great thing about Sahn’s approach to designing helmets is that their minimalist design and colour range suits almost any outfit. Their helmets even come with a natural cotton padded carrying sack!

A variety of Sahn helmets are available here for $99 / £70.

Brooks Island Urban helmet

If you’re looking for something a little more elegant and luxurious to compliment your ride through the city, then check out the Island Urband helmet from Brooks Cycling.
