Fitness First Invites People to Workout on Blue Monday for FREE

Fancy sharing a cab with Victoria Pendleton on your way to the gym? Well now you can!

Fitness First is opening its doors to the public on Monday 19 January, otherwise known as Blue Monday, to try and boost the nation’s mood by offering free gym sessions.

Over a third of the nation (38%) believe that exercise boosts their mood when they’re feeling depressed. So in order to combat what has become known as the most depressing day of the year (due to holiday debt, lack of sunshine and general post- Christmas blues), Fitness First has teamed up with former Olympians Victoria Pendleton and Max Whitlock to offer a truly unique and exciting opportunity for the public.

Fitness First will open gym doors across the UK for free visits, welcoming members of the public to experience ‘Fitness Reconfigured’, a campaign providing new insights into fun and dynamic workouts with a difference. Back to back complimentary gym floor classes will run throughout the day and expertly trained staff will be on hand to answer fitness questions.

What’s more, for Londoners who need a bit more encouragement to get them into the gym, they can enjoy a stress free journey to the gym with exclusive Fitness First Cabs, where special guests including Victoria Pendleton and Max Whitlock will be on the back seat ready to share fitness tips and motivational psychology advice ahead of a Monday Workout.

These complimentary mood boosting mobiles can be ordered through Twitter #RedMondayFF and will transport lucky gym goers to three key Fitness First gyms (Bishopsgate, The Strand and Tottenham Court Road*).

So come on what are you waiting for?!
